After dark

76cmx61cm acrylic on cotton canvas 2018 Private collection

Night skies at Woodbridge in southern Tasmania are stunning and stars burn against the dark, particularly on cold nights in winter. We know that the sky is packed with an infinitely of stars beyond those we can see when we look up.

Looking past a small elderly cottage which sits above St. Simon and St. Jude’s Anglican Church, Bruny Island swims on the far side of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel lit by starlight and moonlight, while the foreground is made visible by light globes.
